Missional Engagement

A missional church has four components according to Reggie McNeal: its the people of God partnering with God to bring about redemption of the community and the world. There cannot be a much better synopsis of real Wesleyan theology than this statement and yet the United Methodist Church has nearly abandoned this philosophy. Here is a great video with an awesome visual depiction of the discussion that explains his concept of a missional church.

This looks a lot like the strategy that both John Wesley and William Booth (founder of the Salvation Army) used to engage needs and souls in their communities.
