A Few Great Free Resources for Leaders

According to Strength Finder, two of my defining strengths are "Learner" and "Input." That means that I crave the consumption of massive amounts of information for a day to feel productive. I usually read more than fifty books a year, often reading two or three at the same time. My appetite for learning and fresh reading material far outstrips my budget for books, which I consider meager and my wife considers massive. I have learned to harvest the best of free offerings and have decided from time to time to share them with those who read my blog. Here are this weeks awesome free e-books, articles, and reports that I have found and downloaded to my amazing KINDLE. Please comment and add to the list so we can share the best information out there! I remain:

Consumed by the Call,

Lead with LUV: A Different Way to Creat Real Success: I love Southwest Airlines. Here is how they created the contagious culture that they practice! I have waited for this to become available for a long time!

The Invitation: A simple guide to the Bible: Essentially I love everything Eugene Peterson writes. He has amazing clarity and a pastor's heart. This e-book is a compilation of the introductions he wrote to each book of his translation of the Bible, The Message. It is a great overview of the entire text.

Hierarchy of Contagiousness: The Science, Design, and Engineering of Contagious Ideas: Okay, my geek is showing, but this 80 page e-book picks apart how viral ideas are created and designed to spread. Excellent for those interested in social media marketing and spreading awesome ideas (like the Gospel!).

Is a church merger right for you? I'm a big fan of Leadership Network. They offer TONS of free reports and articles for church leaders. This latest report is a study of churches who have merged, why they merged, what worked and what didn't. As we seek to revitalize the UMC this could be a valuable tool to research!

Lastly for my non-readers, an online leadership conference, also sponsored by Leadership Network. The Nines is a nine-hour overloaded, power-packed interactive online conference where solid, in the field leaders share their wisdom. Even if you can only plug in for an hour its worth "FREE!" You can buy the set of notes if you would like.
